The Behavioral Health Medication Voucher program is a collaborative project of SafeNetRx and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office to provide free behavioral health medications to safety net patients of Iowa’s Federally Qualified Health Centers.
FQHCs may use this voucher program to assist their patients to successfully transition to care with community mental health centers or other mental health providers.
Eligibility: Patients with household incomes 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or below and who are uninsured or underinsured are eligible to receive a 30-day supply of a prescribed behavioral health medication on the program formulary. There is no limit on the number of vouchers that may be issued to a qualified patient, but no more than one voucher may be issued for each 30-day supply of medication.
How to Participate: FQHCs qualify and provide vouchers to eligible patients. The vouchers may be presented at the in-house or contracted 340B pharmacy to obtain the prescribed medications from the formulary. FQHCs interest in utilizing this program should contact SafeNetRx at 515-327-5405.
